Where Art, Design, and Structure Overlap
Conducting taught me that creativity thrives in structure — a principle that shows up in web design, publishing, and the tools I build.
I’ve spent a good part of my life thinking about how things come together — whether it’s a symphony, a team, or a website.
Conducting taught me that creativity doesn’t always live in chaos; it lives in, and can thrive in, structure. You can’t make a performance come alive without systems that support it — clear cues, good rehearsal planning, trust between people.
Lately, this same principle shows up in all my work — in web design, publishing, and the small tools I build. The mediums change, but the questions stay the same:
What helps people do their best work? And how do we build systems that still leave room for humanity?
That’s what I’m most interested in right now — the space where art, design, and structure overlap.
